$0 for Laredo COPS

The governments Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, otherwise known as COPS will not give the city of Laredo any funding. Laredo officials were counting on enough funding for 40 new officers through federal fund. Local officials pushed hard to Washington politicians the need for more boots on the ground. Many local leader including Mayor Raul Salinas and Police Chief Maldonado were upset that Laredo would not receive a dime of the funding.
