No new bridge in the next decade

City and county officials have said that the possiblity of having a new bridge is unlikely to occur in the next ten years. The government denied the requests of both the city and county to build a bridge. After millions of taxpayer dollars have been invested in creating a new bridge nothing will be done. Mexican officials disagree with officials from this side of the border on a non-commericial bridge. A bridge had been proposed to be built in south Laredo near Rio Bravo and El Cenizo.
