44-year-old Richard Battistata has died after being tasered by Laredo police Monday. Battistata was allegedly breaking into a home forcing police to taser him, he collapsed and an ambulance was called after he became unconscious.
The police officers involved are currently under investigation.

Mr. Battistata is the 36th person killed by police use of taser guns this calendar year. That is almost one taser-related death per week. Something is wrong when so many people die from a supposedly "non-lethal" weapon.
