Farouk Shami, a prominent businessman and inventor made his announcement official for Texas Governor in Laredo.Shami is founder of Farouk Systems, Inc. based in Houston and inventor of BioSilk and Chi hair porducts.
"We want things in US or in Texas. We want to create jobs. When you buy made in Texas the money stays in Texas." He says. "My business career proves it. I already created 1270 jobs, bringing back from Korea and China to Texas."
He will run as a Democrat in the governor's race which is set for March 2009. Running in the democratic primary are; Kinky Friedman, Ronnie Earle, Felix Alvarado, Hank Gilbert, Tom Schieffer and Mark Thompson
