Hollywood in Laredo? Council dreams idea
The Laredo city council recently approved a resolution that will make it possible to attract the filmmaking industry right here in Laredo.
Members of the Film Commission of Texas will be in town December 3rd at La Posada Hotel. Councilmen Gene Belmares and Hector Garcia, both employees of La Posada say this will be a stepping stone to better things to come.
The workshop is named "When Hollywood comes to town" and is being sponsored by the Texas Film Commission together with the Leadership Institute of Texas.
Officials say film making in Laredo will help the economy and generate tourism.
