Hutchison stops in Laredo for campaign

Texas Republican US Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison made a campaign stop in Laredo at La Posada Hotel to campaign for her bid as governor. Former mayor Betty Flores, a democrat and councilman Gene Belmares, a republican who is planning on running for mayor were on hand at today's event. Hutchison voted against judge Sonia Sotomayor, the first hispanic US Supreme Court justice last month, a move which could hurt in a general election match up with a democrat. Hutchison will still need to defeat incumbent Rick Perry for the Republican nomination.
